This would make it Proofpoint\u2019s largest acquisition, and also one of the biggest cybersecurity deals in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>Proofpoint is also reaping the benefits of Hornetsecurity\u2019s own acquisition strategy. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hornetsecurity.com\/us\/blog\/vade-joins-hornetsecurity-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In March 2024<\/a>, it acquired Vade, an AI-based email security platform that analyzes more than 2.5 billion messages daily. This helped Hornetsecurity bolster its detection capabilities for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csoonline.com\/article\/575559\/business-email-compromise-scams-take-new-dimension-with-multi-stage-attacks.html\">business email compromise<\/a> (BEC) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csoonline.com\/article\/566789\/what-is-spear-phishing-examples-tactics-and-techniques.html\">spear phishing<\/a>. The company has also enhanced its platform through several other acquisitions, including Altospam (anti-phishing software), IT-Seal (cybersecurity training), Zerospam (email security and anti-spam), and Everycloud (email security).<\/p>\n<p>Proofpoint has also been exploring other acquisitions and different funding routes as it reportedly prepares to return to public markets in 2026.
