{"id":5801,"date":"2025-05-17T22:08:06","date_gmt":"2025-05-17T14:08:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cicserver.com\/four-things-i-expect-to-see-at-dell-technologies-world-2025\/"},"modified":"2025-05-17T22:08:06","modified_gmt":"2025-05-17T14:08:06","slug":"four-things-i-expect-to-see-at-dell-technologies-world-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cicserver.com\/de\/four-things-i-expect-to-see-at-dell-technologies-world-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Four things I expect to see at Dell Technologies World 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net\/NsUrfuVoZF4wuUZVGn3bW8.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div id=\"article-body\">\n<p>Dell Technologies World 2025 starts on 19 May 2025 in Las Vegas and I will be one of the many journalists, IT professionals, <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/business\/dell-technologies-partner-program-2025\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/business\/dell-technologies-partner-program-2025\"><u>channel partners<\/u><\/a> and others making their way to the Nevada desert to hear what <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/strategy\/23286\/michael-dell-biography-salary-and-career-history-of-dells-ceo\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/strategy\/23286\/michael-dell-biography-salary-and-career-history-of-dells-ceo\"><u>CEO Michael Dell<\/u><\/a> and the rest of the executive team have to say.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been nearly 10 years since I last attended Dell Technologies World \u2013 or Dell EMC World as it was then \u2013 and to say a lot has changed in that time would be a serious understatement.<\/p>\n<aside data-block-type=\"embed\" data-render-type=\"fte\" data-skip=\"dealsy\" data-widget-type=\"seasonal\" class=\"hawk-base\"\/>\n<p>My finger hasn\u2019t been completely off the pulse in the interim, however, so here are four things I expect to see at Dell Technologies World 2025<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"ai-3\">AI<\/h2>\n<p>Love it or deeply cynical about it (I\u2019m somewhere in between), <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/hardware\/ai-is-paying-dividends-for-dell-technologies-booming-server-sales-and-rapid-networking-growth-have-taken-the-edge-off-a-rocky-period\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/hardware\/ai-is-paying-dividends-for-dell-technologies-booming-server-sales-and-rapid-networking-growth-have-taken-the-edge-off-a-rocky-period\"><u>Dell Technologies has gone all in on AI<\/u><\/a>. There are two prongs to this, as revealed at Dell Technologies World 2024: AI agents (aka agentic AI), and AI-enabling technologies in the form of <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/technology\/artificial-intelligence\/dell-doubles-down-on-nvidia-partnership-with-ai-factories-and-models-at-the-edge\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/technology\/artificial-intelligence\/dell-doubles-down-on-nvidia-partnership-with-ai-factories-and-models-at-the-edge\"><u>AI factories<\/u><\/a>, which loosely means the integration of hardware and software for an end-to-end solution.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, for Dell there\u2019s more than one aspect when it comes to integrating AI into hardware, given it has a range of enterprise servers, storage, and so-on in addition to laptops, desktops and thin clients. The company has also taken a particular interest in AI at the edge so that it can be processed as quickly as possible, with throughput being the key metric, rather than power. So there\u2019s plenty to talk about.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"hardware-3\">Hardware<\/h2>\n<p>Speaking of hardware, we can almost certainly expect some updates across Dell Technologies\u2019 portfolio. It\u2019s only been a few months since the company overhauled its laptop products \u2013 in name at least \u2013 so we probably won\u2019t get any major hardware announcements from this side of the business.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, some brief explanation of why <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/hardware\/laptops\/dell-kills-off-xps-and-other-brands-for-pc-simplicity\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/hardware\/laptops\/dell-kills-off-xps-and-other-brands-for-pc-simplicity\"><u>the company chose to move from \u201cXPS\u201d naming to \u201cPro\u201d<\/u><\/a>, plus some further insights on the Dell Pro Max announcements made at Nvidia\u2019s GTC conference in March could well be on the cards.<\/p>\n<div id=\"slice-container-newsletterForm-articleInbodyContent-Jw3A347J7q8fqUGyEUKWoY\" class=\"slice-container newsletter-inbodyContent-slice newsletterForm-articleInbodyContent-Jw3A347J7q8fqUGyEUKWoY slice-container-newsletterForm\">\n<div data-hydrate=\"true\" class=\"newsletter-form__wrapper newsletter-form__wrapper--inbodyContent\">\n<div class=\"newsletter-form__container\">\n<section class=\"newsletter-form__top-bar\"\/>\n<section class=\"newsletter-form__main-section\">\n<p class=\"newsletter-form__strapline\">Sign up today and you will receive a free copy of our Future Focus 2025 report &#8211; the leading guidance on AI, cybersecurity and other IT challenges as per 700+ senior executives<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>On the enterprise hardware side of the business, it\u2019s been over six months since the company\u2019s last product announcement in this area. While this is an area that in general moves slower than desktop hardware and several new items were announced during last year\u2019s keynotes, it would be surprising for Michael Dell and the rest of the Dell Technologies speakers to come to the stage empty handed. Some kind of improvement or new features for an existing product is the minimum I would expect in this area.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"special-guests-3\">Special guests<\/h2>\n<p>Technology conferences love to spice things up with a surprise appearance from a special guest. Last year, Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell was joined on stage during his first day keynote by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to discuss how they\u2019re working together to create these AI factories.<\/p>\n<p>While I wouldn\u2019t necessarily expect to see Huang again, I expect to hear more about how AI factories have evolved and I wouldn\u2019t rule out the possibility of another special guest appearance. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella wouldn\u2019t be out of the question, given Dell\u2019s integration of copilot keys into its hardware, and <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/business-strategy\/33573\/view-from-the-airport-dell-technologies-world-2019\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/business-strategy\/33573\/view-from-the-airport-dell-technologies-world-2019\"><u>he did appear in the flesh back in 2019<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-sphere-3\">The Sphere<\/h2>\n<p>The Sphere is fast becoming <em>the<\/em> place to hold your tech conference keynote. In the past 12 months, both <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/cloud\/live\/google-cloud-next-2025-all-the-news-and-updates-live\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/cloud\/live\/google-cloud-next-2025-all-the-news-and-updates-live\"><u>Google Cloud Next<\/u><\/a> and <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/news\/live\/HPE-Discover-2024-all-the-news-and-updates-live\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/news\/live\/HPE-Discover-2024-all-the-news-and-updates-live\"><u>HPE Discover<\/u><\/a> opened with a general session held in Las Vegas\u2019 latest attraction, which is conveniently attached to the Venetian Conference Center.<\/p>\n<p>It just so happens that this is where Dell Technologies World is being held again this year, so it would surprise me if the company didn\u2019t avail itself of this facility to wow attendees.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever ends up happening, though, I will be on site reporting from the event.
