I\u2019ve covered several of them in previous articles. I want to focus on one of his most interesting and impactful announcements: <\/span><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\"><a class=\"ContentText-BodyTextChunk ContentText-BodyTextChunk_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/blog\/what-is-agentic-ai\/\">agentic AI<\/a><\/span><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">The age of agentic AI is here, and every organization can take advantage of it. Huang called it \u201ca perfect example of test-time scaling,\u201d which refers to a computer, or in this case, an AI that can pass the famous Turing Test designed to distinguish human thinking from its machine counterpart.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_h2 ContentText_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-text\" id=\"What is agentic AI, and what will it enable?\" style=\"scroll-margin-top:10rem;scroll-snap-margin-top:10rem\"><span class=\"ContentText-BodyTextChunk ContentText-BodyTextChunk_bold\">What is agentic AI, and what will it enable?<\/span>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">Let\u2019s first define agentic AI and then examine its potential benefits for the world. Nvidia calls agentic AI \u201cthe next wave in the evolution of generative AI.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">Agentic AI is a system of AI models or agents that can act autonomously, make decisions, and learn independently. Agentic AI works with limited human supervision to perform a wide range of tasks that, until now, could only be done by people. Huang described AI as a system of models. \u201cMaybe it&#8217;s going onto the internet. Maybe it&#8217;s starting with a PDF file. And so it might be using tools. It might be using a calculator, and it might be using a generative AI to generate charts and such. And it&#8217;s taking the problem you gave it, breaking it down, step by step. And it&#8217;s iterating through all these different models,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-component=\"related-article\" class=\"RelatedArticle\"><span data-testid=\"related-article-title\" class=\"RelatedArticle-Title\">Related:<\/span><a class=\"RelatedArticle-RelatedContent\" href=\"https:\/\/www.networkcomputing.com\/network-infrastructure\/new-england-patriots-tap-nwn-for-network-connectivity-upgrades-new-it-infrastructure\" target=\"_self\" data-discover=\"true\">New England Patriots Tap NWN for Network Connectivity Upgrades, New IT Infrastructure<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">Since the dawn of the computer age in the mid-20<\/span><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\"><sup class=\"ContentText-BodyTextChunk ContentText-BodyTextChunk_superscript\">th<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\"> century, humans have driven the processes that computers rely on to perform work and output responses. \u201cIn the future, you\u2019ll ask a question and a whole bunch of models are going to be working in the background,\u201d Huang said. \u201cThe amount of computation used for inferencing is going to go through the roof because we want better and better answers to help the industry build agentic AI.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_h2 ContentText_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-text\" id=\"How will agentic AI reach the market?\" style=\"scroll-margin-top:10rem;scroll-snap-margin-top:10rem\"><span class=\"ContentText-BodyTextChunk ContentText-BodyTextChunk_bold\">How will agentic AI reach the market?<\/span>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">Huang said Nvidia\u2019s go-to-market approach is to \u201cwork with software developers in the IT ecosystem to integrate our technology to make possible new capabilities, just like we did with <\/span><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\"><a class=\"ContentText-BodyTextChunk ContentText-BodyTextChunk_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/blog\/cuda-accelerated-computing-energy-efficiency\/\">CUDA libraries<\/a><\/span><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">. We now want to do that with AI libraries.\u201d There will also be what Huang called exciting new models coming from physical AI. \u201cThese AI models run in every single cloud because Nvidia&#8217;s GPUs are now available in every single cloud. It&#8217;s available in every single OEM,\u201d he said. Huang explained that the models could be integrated into a wide variety of software packages to create AI agents on many platforms for customer deployment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-component=\"related-article\" class=\"RelatedArticle\"><span data-testid=\"related-article-title\" class=\"RelatedArticle-Title\">Related:<\/span><a class=\"RelatedArticle-RelatedContent\" href=\"https:\/\/www.networkcomputing.com\/network-infrastructure\/san-francisco-49ers-netapp-team-up-to-build-an-intelligent-data-infrastructure\" target=\"_self\" data-discover=\"true\">San Francisco 49ers, NetApp Team Up to Build an Intelligent Data Infrastructure<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">Huang said the next layer of agentic AI development will leverage the company\u2019s end-to-end platform for developing custom generative AI, including large language models (LLM), vision language models (VLM), video models, and speech AI.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">\u201cThese AI agents are essentially a digital workforce working alongside your employees, doing things for you on your behalf,\u201d he explained. Huang added that companies would onboard these specialized agents similarly to how new employees are onboarded when they join a company. \u201cWe have different libraries that help these AI agents be trained for the type of language in your company. Maybe the vocabulary is unique to your company. The business process is different. The way you work is different. So, you would give them examples of what the work product should look like, and they would try to generate it, and you would give it feedback, and then you would evaluate them and so on.\u201d Huang said companies would give the agents access to certain information, but there would be guardrails to prevent agents from doing anything the company doesn\u2019t want them to do.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">Huang said the agents would be a digital employee pipeline, resulting in a company\u2019s IT department becoming \u201cthe HR department of AI agents in the future. Today, they manage and maintain a bunch of software from the IT industry. In the future, they will maintain, nurture onboard, and improve a whole bunch of digital agents and provision them to the companies to use.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-component=\"related-article\" class=\"RelatedArticle\"><span data-testid=\"related-article-title\" class=\"RelatedArticle-Title\">Related:<\/span><a class=\"RelatedArticle-RelatedContent\" href=\"https:\/\/www.networkcomputing.com\/network-infrastructure\/potential-effects-of-trump-policy-changes-on-network-managers\" target=\"_self\" data-discover=\"true\">Potential Effects of Trump Policy Changes on Network Managers<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_h2 ContentText_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-text\" id=\"Nemotron model families will advance agentic AI\" style=\"scroll-margin-top:10rem;scroll-snap-margin-top:10rem\"><span class=\"ContentText-BodyTextChunk ContentText-BodyTextChunk_bold\">Nemotron model families will advance agentic AI<\/span>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">Nvidia will provide a foundation for agentic AI based on its <\/span><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\"><a class=\"ContentText-BodyTextChunk ContentText-BodyTextChunk_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/blog\/nemotron-model-families\/\">Llama Nemotron<\/a><\/span><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\"> family of open LLMs. These models will help developers build and deploy agents for a wide range of applications, including customer support, fraud detection, product supply chain, and inventory management optimization.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">Huang said Llama 3.1 has already been downloaded from Meta hundreds of thousands of times and turned into about 60,000 other different models fine-tuned for enterprise use. \u201cIt is singularly the reason why just about every single enterprise in every single industry has been activated to start working on AI.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_h2 ContentText_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-text\" id=\"Next up: AI PCs\" style=\"scroll-margin-top:10rem;scroll-snap-margin-top:10rem\"><span class=\"ContentText-BodyTextChunk ContentText-BodyTextChunk_bold\">Next up: AI PCs<\/span>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">Huang said AI was created in the cloud and for the cloud. It\u2019s already on phones, but he said the goal is to put Nvidia AI inside companies to become an AI assistant. He said the way to do that is to put AI directly into PCs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">The key to achieving that, he said, is on computers with Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) 2. \u201cIt\u2019s developed for developers\u201d and \u201coptimized for cloud-native applications and CUDA\u201d right out of the box. Nvidia is working to turn WSL 2 Windows PCs into a \u201ctarget first-class platform\u201d that Nvidia will support and maintain \u201cfor as long as we shall live.\u201d He called it \u201can incredible thing for engineers and developers everywhere\u201d and an example of the blueprints Nvidia and its partners are developing to make this a reality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentParagraph ContentParagraph_align_left\" data-testid=\"content-paragraph\"><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\">\u201cAll of the PC OEMs we work with &#8212; basically all the world\u2019s leading PC OEMs &#8212; are going to get their PCs ready for this stack,\u201d said Huang. \u201cAnd so <\/span><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\"><a class=\"ContentText-BodyTextChunk ContentText-BodyTextChunk_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/blog\/ai-studio-rtx-pc-workstation-advanced\/\">AI PCs<\/a><\/span><span class=\"ContentText ContentText_variant_bodyNormal\" data-testid=\"content-text\"> are coming to a home near you.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script defer=\"\" async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v18.0\" data-ot-ignore=\"true\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In his announcement-filled keynote address to kick off this year\u2019s CES consumer electronics event in Las Vegas, Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang introduced a flurry of new and enhanced products.
