In March 2025, Polarnode announced a substantial investment in Lappeenranta, aiming to develop a data center with a capacity exceeding 150 MW. The facility will be constructed on a 33-hectare industrial site in the Pajarila area, with construction slated to commence by the end of 2025. This project is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, with hundreds of local construction workers involved during the 2–5 year construction phase. Nokia Data Center Project
In April 2025, Polarnode entered into a cooperation agreement with the City of Nokia to develop a data center in the Juhansuo district. The planned facility will have a capacity of 30 MW and will be built on a 5.5-hectare industrial plot. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. This development is anticipated to have significant employment impacts in the Nokia business area during the various phases of construction and operation. The 2–3-year construction phase will employ up to hundreds of local construction experts, and once operational, the facility will create permanent jobs in maintenance, supervision, security, and operations management.
