Vultr, a privately held cloud computing provider, has added the AMD Epyc 4005 Series processors to its platform.
Currently available via Vultr Bare Metal, the processors will soon be added to the Vultr High Frequency Cloud Compute offering also.
The company’s offering is available with the AMD Epyc 4245P with six cores as its new small bare metal subscription plan, and the AMD Epyc 4345P with eight cores for Vultr’s new medium bare metal plan.
Both are built on the Zen 5 architecture, which offers “exceptional” performance per watt.
According to Vultr, the offering is ideal for workloads needing low latency and faster memory throughput.
“Vultr is committed to delivering the most advanced cloud infrastructure with unrivaled price-to-performance,” said J.J. Kardwell, CEO of Vultr. “The AMD Epyc 4005 Series provides straightforward deployment, scalability, high clock speed, energy efficiency, and best-in-class performance. Whether you are a business striving to scale reliably or a developer crafting the next groundbreaking innovation, these solutions are designed to deliver exceptional value and meet demanding requirements now and in the future.”
AMD unveiled its Epyc 4005 processor series earlier this month with six different offerings.
The processors being offered by Vultr – the 4245P and 4345P – have the lowest core counts of the portfolio.
“We designed the AMD Epyc 4005 Series CPUs with our system partners in mind, creating a processor that enables them to develop differentiated, cost-effective enterprise solutions,” said Derek Dicker, corporate vice president of enterprise and HPC Business at AMD. “The memory and I/O feature sets, combined with our latest ‘Zen 5’ architecture, give our technology partners the flexibility to create powerful yet affordable systems that meet the specific needs of growing businesses and dedicated hosters.”
Vultr was founded in 2014 by David Aninowsky. The company currently has 32 cloud data center regions across six continents and describes itself as the world’s largest privately-held cloud infrastructure company.
Earlier this year, the company revealed to DCD that it was considering an IPO in the coming years. In December 2024, Vultr raised $333 million in a round led LuminArx Capital Management and AMD Ventures.
